WE HAVE BUILT A MOVEMENT EMPOWERING YOUNG MEN & WOMEN TO BE RECOGNISED, GUIDED AND MENTORED TO ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS AND TO REACH THEIR POTENTIAL.
The goal of BASE is to identify and celebrate Year 11 and Year 12 students in their respective areas of excellence and to support them in their future endeavours.
We aim for the young women & men in our community to strive for excellence and to be socially conscious young leaders.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. ENTRY IS FREE.
ALL FINALISTS ARE RECOGNISED AND WINNERS OF EACH AWARD RECEIVE UP TO $500, A TROPHY AND A SHIELD FOR THEIR SCHOOL. ALL FINALISTS WILL BE CONSIDERED TO RECEIVE ONE OF TWO UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS OFFERED BY SOUTHERN CROSS UNIVERSITY.

Founder Rebeca Hogan collaborated with local businesses, high schools, universities and well known inspirational women and men in our community to start BASE Youth Leadership Awards.
Believe in yourself. Believe in your skills and talents. Self confidence and self belief are critical for success. Be you – everyone else is already taken.
Hard work is more important than talent. Hard work, grit, perseverance and effort are skills that are a necessity to succeed. Without grit, talent may be nothing more than unfulfilled potential.

Passion leads to success. It creates excitement and its contagious. Compassion- Kindness, common regard and respect for others is paramount

Have good old fashioned manners.
You need courage to begin something. Courage allows you to act despite your fears. Courage allows you to attempt things, to take risks, to make big decisions. Be brave – have courage.
